Nancy Scales-Coddington

Creating experiences, stories and adventures that help people see themselves in STEM.

Nancy is an educator, science communicator, and artist dedicated to bridging the gap between technical research and public engagement. As a university-level science communication instructor and a designated media and communication practitioner on major grants, she has a proven track record of translating complex scientific concepts into compelling human stories.

At the core of Nancy’s methodology is the intersection of STEM identity and creative design. By leveraging wearable technology and interactive LED-lit installations, she transforms abstract data into visual, tangible narratives that foster belonging and help audiences see themselves as capable STEM contributors. Through her work, she helps academic institutions and technical organizations maximize their broader impacts, scale their public reach, and build a more inclusive scientific community.

SciComm Solutions is a creative educational consultancy that operates at the unique intersection of science communication, media production, and hands-on art. We design dynamic learning experiences and professional development frameworks that break down STEM stereotypes and foster a deep sense of belonging for youth and educators alike. Unlike traditional, textbook-heavy science programs, we specialize in using creative storytelling, wearable technology, and media-driven engagement to help individuals see themselves as confident contributors to the STEM workforce.
